Ned Ryerson “Live” kicked-off the afternoon with his unique acoustic rock sounds of the Jersey Shore and got the crowd off their feet right from the start of the event with his renditions of “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Margaritaville” and other classic tunes for the first few hours of the fundraiser.
The Pat Roddy Band then took center stage and continued the festive atmosphere with classic rock, oldies, big-band tracks and a number of Bruce Springsteen cuts including “Glory Days” which had the guests at the Elks yelling for more.
Roddy also teamed up with Ned Ryerson on several songs throughout the afternoon with the duo bringing the house down with “Sweet Home Alabama” and Roddy then paid a special tribute to Barbara Forfar offering up “Jersey Girl” which ended with an emotional standing ovation from the crowd.
Rockin Robyn Lane of WRAT (95.9 FM) helped MC the event in addition to conducting live “call-in” on-air interviews with benefit organizers and officials of Ocean Medical Center throughout the afternoon and the WRAT “Rat Pack” event crew was also on hand giving away numerous prizes to all age groups including several “Friends With Benefits” happy hours for the winner plus 40 of their friends.
